On the way to Pompeii, we will drive by Mt. Vesuvius, the volcano responsible for one of the most famous historical events in Italy. The old city of Pompeii is located at the base of the Vesuvius and was flourish during the Period of the Roman Empire. After the eruptions of the Volcano in 79 B.C the city has been destroyed and covered by ashes and lapillus. The Archeological dig started in 1748 and in three centuries only 3/5 part of the city has been discovered. Now the city has declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO and 3.750.000 tourists each year come to visit it.

After that we will visit one the most important city of Italy, Naples where we will have lunch. Enjoy the original Pizza in the place where it was created, or, if you prefer another amazing dish of Neapolitan cuisine you just have to ask us, thanks to its incredible food tradition you have literally hundreds of alternatives.Our cheeses are fine Italian cheeses made from high quality milks, and the mozzarella is also known as “white gold”, for its premium quality and taste. The crust releases the flavor of well-baked bread. The sauce delivers the characteristic aroma of a fresh and fragrant mediterranean plate. 90 seconds in our wood-fired ovens at close to 1000 degrees bake it to perfection. Neapolitan Pizza is magic. We will then go to the Archaeological Museum of Naples, driving along the Neapolitan streets your driver will show and explain you the history, the architecture and the buildings of this incredible place. The amazing squares like “Piazza Dante” dedicated to the very famous Italian poet, “Piazza del Plebiscito” where you can find the Palace of the King, next to the “San Carlo” theatre, Via Roma where you can go for a nice day of shopping, and many many more amazing places, such as “Port’Alba”, “Piazza del Gesù” with the incredible “Chiesa del Gesù” and “Monastero di Santa Chiara”, and so on. Once arrived at the museum, trust your guide and let her/him accompany you in the huge halls of this place where you can find ruins, sculptures, marbles from Greek and Roman periods, plus a side of the museum entirely dedicated to the Egyptian collection.

General Informations

All our drivers have been trained to give a tour along the route as you are driven to your destinations, however due to strict Italian laws regulating and protecting licensed tour guides our drivers cannot do this outside of the vehicle, in the towns, sites and museums.

In the very rare event that there is an internal assembly or strike in Pompeii, unfortunately they usually do not advise of this in advance.

Kid Friendly: YES (This tour is suitable for children as long as they are supervised by a parent).

Please , comunicate the age of kids up to 6 years old in order to provide a baby car seat.

We reserve the right to change the order in which we visit the sites.

Passengers with a Reduced Mobility (PRM) Friendly : YES (you must enjoy walking short distances and be able to get in and out of minivan and minibus).

Passaport Holders under 18 years are entitled to free admission to State owned archaeological sites (Pompeii, Herculaneum, Etc.) and museums, upon production of a valid photo identity document.

We had a wonderful time on our tour of Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast with Lovely Amalfi Tours and our driver Giovanni. We were part of a group of 16 people - 8 each in two vans - organized by someone else on our cruise. Lovely Amalfi Tours arranged for a tour guide to take us through Pompeii at minimal cost since there were so many of us. It was excellent! We were the first group to arrive at Pompeii that morning, just as they were unlocking the gates, so had very few other tourists at the site with us. The drive of the coast was beautiful with lots of stops for pictures. They organized a group lunch for those that wanted it, but were flexible in allowing those that didn't to stay longer in Positano and grab their own lunch. I would certainly recommend this company and wouldn't hesitate to book with them in the future.

What an amazing day this was - truly one of the highlights of our vacation overall. We booked this excursion to get an overview of the Amalfi Coast area while in the port of Naples on a Celebrity Cruise. Giovanni was our driver and could not have been any nicer or better informed! He knew I was into photography and made sure he stopped in all of the right places for memorable photos. We even stopped to squeeze our own fresh orange juice and he arranged for us to have a lovely lunch in a little restaurant where he knew we would be treated like family! We opted to do the full day tour which began with a drive across the mountain area, and then hugged the coast with stops in Ravello (check out the lovely clifftop villa), Amalfi, Positano, and Sorrento.
