The Milky Mountains route (countryside) - Ravello - Winery ( Optional ) - Herculaneum

Your private driver will greet you at your Hotel / accommodation located in Naples or Salerno (or Naples/Salerno train station), after a brief presentation you will be accompanied to the luxurious vehicle where our staff will offer you every comfort you need. After that they will give you important information about the tour and the places that you are going to visit. Finally, let's get started your dream Private Tour !

You will be driven to Ravello (it will be your first stop) by a special and secret route (no traffic). It is called the Milky Mountains route. It will take you through the countryside of this lovely region called "Campania" and it will give you the opportunity to be immerged in the nature of one of the most beautiful national park of the country. This twisty road will allow you to see one of the most unique shot of the famous volcano called Mount Vesuvius from an altitude of 2800 feet. Our driver will be happy to stop in one of the panoramic terrace where you will be able to take incredible pics of you and your family. You will be enjoying the countryside view , the chestnuts trees area, you will have the chance (if you are lucky) to see some goats herd on the way and much more.

You will find yourselves driving up to Ravello early in the morning (less tourists in the town), famous for its nature and for the Villas like Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo, whose gardens are full of different kind of flowers, plants and trees, especially lemon and orange trees for whom the coast is famous. The driver will wait for you for about one hour before leaving.Villa Rufolo sits on a ledge that has attracted thousands of visitors over the years, thanks, in large part, to the inspiration it provided Giovanni Boccaccio in his Decameron and as the location where Richard Wagner composed the second act of his opera “Parsifal” in 1880.Each summer since 1953 the “Ravello Festival” has honored Wagner with concerts held on the dramatic Villa Rufolo stage overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Later on, we are going to leave this lovely town for another kind of experience. Thank to its particular climate, the warm soil, its unique florae, the Volcano area is amazingly fertile and full of vineyards which produce incredible wines exported in all the world. With this tour you can arrange a visit to the best winery of the region, and probably of the world. The tour will include tasting of wines as “Lachrimae Christi” or “Capafresca” along with an amazing Italian light lunch made with local ingredients

The volcano is responsible for one of the most famous historical events in Italy, the tragic eruption that hit the old city of Pompeii as well, and this city is our next stop. The old city of Herculaneum is located at the base of the Vesuvius and was flourish during the Period of the Roman Empire. After the eruptions of the Volcano in 79 B.C. the city has been destroyed and covered by ashes and lapillus. Ancient tradition connected Herculaneum with the name of the Greek hero Heracles, an indication that the city was of Greek origin. There is, however, historical evidence that toward the end of the 6th century BC a primitive nucleus of Oscan-speaking inhabitants came under Greek hegemony there and that in the 4th century BC Herculaneum came under the domination of the Samnites. The city became a Roman municipium in 89 BC, when, having participated in the Social War (“war of the allies” against Rome), it was defeated by Titus Didius, a legate of Lucius Cornelius Sulla.

Before leaving your private driver please agree upon the time to leave. Then the driver will recommend a suitable time to get back to your hotel /accommodation (or Naples train station) after this lovely day!

We just finished our day tour of Positano, Sorrento & Pompeii. Giovanni was our driver & we feel so lucky to have had him! He was incredible and super friendly. Gió shared so much information about the region & his own personal experiences and recommendations of each place. You could tell that he was a proud Napolitano and we had so much fun! The Amalfi coast is so beautiful & although it is currently winter, there was something truly special about being one of the only tourists walking through Positano. It felt like we had the whole town to ourselves. We won't forget it! Grazie mille Giovanni!

from Boston

We booked a private car tour from Positano to Sorrento - but we got so much more! Vincenzo picked us up right on time from our hotel in Positano - and he was delightful! Not only did he drive us to Sorrento, he told us great stories of the areas as we drove through them. He stopped at all the best look out points so we could get the best views/photos of the Amalfi coast. He took the time to ask us what we were interested in seeing and doing in Sorrento so that he could customize the tour to what we wanted. It was perfect!! He dropped us in the city center for 2 hours so that we could shop and sightsee... and even made great recommendations for restaurants - and where to get the best Limoncello. We had a lovely day in Sorrento and it was all thanks to Vincenzo!

By far the best full-day tour we had during our 2017 Mediterranean Cruise. Sal picked us up very punctually from the Port of Napoli and the fun began from there. The vehicle was very clean and comfortable. Sal was very informative and entertained our group throughout the day. Pickups at Amalfi, Positano, Ravello and Sorrento were all right on time and seamless. Highly recommended!!

We booked day tour with Enrico for 2 in May 2017 and he was the highlight of our 3 week Italy trip! He picked us up at our hotel and wanted to start the day off with coffee so he took us to his favorite coffee bar for cappuccino and Neapolitan pastries. They had the best sfogliatella! Then we continued on our way to the Amalfi Coast, stopping in Positano, Ravello, and Amalfi. He knew the best places to stop and take pictures and even bought us lemon sorbet twice! He pointed out important places in the history of Naples and would talk about each town before stopping to let us stroll through on our own for an hour or so. He also took us the to most amazing seaside lunch place that's only accessible by boat! It was a perfect way to end our vacation. I will definitely be back to take another day trip with Enrico! Grazie Mille Enrico for an unforgettable day in paradise! Oh, and he has the best pizza place recommendations! You must go visit his suggestions!

Amalfi was our fourth stop after Rome, Firenze and Cinque Terre and we had been on many tours in those cities; but I would say the Amalfi Coast private day tour by Lovely Amalfi Tours was by far the best one! Thanks to our excellent guide Giovanni! ☺️He was an absolute pleasure to travel with-we were one couple with a friend of ours and enjoyed ourselves to the fullest! Giovanni was helpful, vivacious, always ready to take pictures, fill us in on the beauty and history of the gorgeous Amalfi coast, great music selection and just the right spots to visit! I'd 100% recommend this tour with Giovanni to anyone who is planning to tour the Amalfi coast in one day anytime soon

We not only learned a lot but we also consider our 3 guides as our friends and we hope they will contact us if they ever visit the US. Happy Holidays to everyone at Lovely Amalfi Coast Tours!

from CYPRESS

We visited the Amalfi Coast with our guide Enrico in early Oct. 2017. Enrico showed such a passion he has for the Amalfi Coast, He was fun, talkative, and Informative about the area of the world he lives. He knew the best spots for photos, and recommended the most beautiful spot for a lunch I have ever seen. Thanks to Enrico for providing us such an amazing start to our vacation. Will request him again when we return to that most beautiful part of the world.
