The tour will begin after you meet your private driver who will be easily recognizable due to the sign on which will be written your name and our agency logo at the port where your cruise ship will be docked. After a brief presentation your private driver will accompany you at the luxurious vehicle where and will offer you every comfort you need. Our first stop will be Sorrento. Arrived in the city of Sorrento, the private driver will leave you in the historical square called Piazza Tasso, but first of all he will show you the fastest way to go to inner part of the city where you can visit the old churches, museums, the beautiful buildings and the landscapes. You can visit the factory of famous Limoncello; an alcoholic drink made by lemons, sugar and water, a typical Italian product.In Sorrento, you'll enjoy your free time for a photo opportunity and a stroll down to the Sorrento Pier. Corso Italia is Sorrento's flower-lined main boulevard, here you'll find local shops, designer boutiques and cafés.

Later on, we are going to leave this amazing volcano for another kind of experience. Thank to its particular climate, the warm soil, its unique florae, the area is amazingly fertile and full of vineyards which produce incredible wines exported in all the world. With this tour you can arrange a visit to the best winery of the region, and probably of the world. The tour will include tasting of wines as “Lachrimae Christi” or “Capafresca” along with an amazing Italian light lunch made with local ingredients

The volcano is responsible for one of the most famous historical events in Italy, the tragic eruption that hit the old city of Pompeii as well, and this city is our next stop. The old city of Pompeii is located at the base of the Vesuvius and was flourish during the Period of the Roman Empire. After the eruptions of the Volcano in 79 B.C the city has been destroyed and covered by ashes and lapillus. The Archeological dig started in 1748 and in three centuries only 3/5 part of the city has been discovered. Now the city has declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO and 3.750.000 tourists each year come to visit it. Pompeii before the eruption was known as a vacation community for high society. It had a forum, amphitheater, gymnasium, shops and an aqueduct that delivered water for irrigation, fountains and private baths. Some of the ruins are remarkably preserved with elaborately detailed mosaics and colorful frescoes decorating the interiors of wealthy homeowners' villas.

Tickets will be paid (in cash) to your guide at the entrance and it is 18 Euro for Adults. It is Free of Charge up to 18 yrs old (they need to show their passaport or ID).
  • Gratuity can be paid to the driver at your discretion (it is not mandatory in italy)

  • Entrance fee for Pompeii is 18 Euro pp. (Open From 9.00 AM until 5.00 PM).
  • Lunch and Wine tasting is Euro 35/45 per person (if you do not drink alcohol, we can arrange something different for your lunch)

General Informations

All our drivers have been trained to give a tour along the route as you are driven to your destinations, however due to strict Italian laws regulating and protecting licensed tour guides our drivers cannot do this outside of the vehicle, in the towns, sites and museums.

In the very rare event that there is an internal assembly or strike in Pompeii, unfortunately they usually do not advise of this in advance.

Kid Friendly: YES (This tour is suitable for children as long as they are supervised by a parent).

Please , comunicate the age of kids up to 6 years old in order to provide a baby car seat.

We reserve the right to change the order in which we visit the sites.

Passengers with a Reduced Mobility (PRM) Friendly : YES (you must enjoy walking short distances and be able to get in and out of minivan and minibus).

DURATION OF THE TOUR: 8 hours

Passaport Holders under 18 years are entitled to free admission to State owned archaeological sites (Pompeii, Herculaneum, Etc.) and museums, upon production of a valid photo identity document.

The client must know that we will provide this tour despite bad weather.

According to our driver on the day , we can also arrange a different tour. This is something possible caused by the traffic , strikes, extreme weather, landslide / mudslide, closed road, etc.

Please be advised that some shops or sites may be closed during the off-season (mid-November through mid-March)

You absolutely must book with Lovely Amalfi Coast Tours. I never leave reviews, and I’m not just saying that, however I felt compelled to share how wonderful our experience was. We had Gio as our tour guide/friend for the day. Gio felt more like a friend just hanging out and showing us some amazing parts of the coast, while giving us the historical and traditional highlights. He was so outgoing, welcoming and friendly and the spots we stopped at were amazing. He even took us to a less touristy location for lunch (I won’t ruin the surprise or post the name, so people don’t come on to it) and it was the best part of our trip!! I would like to highly recommend Gio Lovely Tours as an option for those looking for a private excursion other than an excursion provided by a cruise line. If you’re with a group of 4 or 6 or even 8, a comfortable Mercedes touring van is used for these tours. I can attest that over the years, Gio has been the most reliable and friendly tour guide and is very knowledgeable about the area. My family and friends have used this company for over 10 years! The company is well aware of cruise ship departure times and assure you of a timely return to the port to board your ship. We recently spent the day again with Gio after he picked us up at the port in Naples, Italy. This was hands down the best tour we have ever been on! Communication was quick and easy from the beginning. They were sure to confirm our tour and my requests. We started off getting off on the wrong train stop, as I did not realize there were 2 Naples stops! Giovanni was so kind and flexible and ended up driving further out to come pick us up! He did not have to offer that because it was totally my fault, but I am so grateful that he did! He was very kind and welcoming. The van was comfortable and roomy. Right away Gio made us feel like family. We felt as though we were actually being shown around by a close friend or family member, rather than just a tour guide. He was fun and informative. As soon as he found out my husband's name was Rocky, he played "Eye of the Tiger" and they pretty much hit it off and became BFFs! We started in Pompeii, which was amazing! I highly recommend paying for the private tour guide, otherwise you will not really know what you are looking at. There is not much signage. I felt that you need the guide to explain things so you can fully appreciate where you are and what you are seeing. Next we started towards Amalfi coast and it was breath taking at every turn. We stopped at a lemon farm for a private lunch. What an experience! All the food was so fresh and the service was top notch! We literally felt as if we were having a meal at a relatives house. Just AMAZING! We continued on and Gio dropped us off in Positano for some shopping! After that we headed back to Naples. I was so sad that it was ending. It was our first full day of vacation, and what a way to start off! This company does not give tours, they give experiences! Amazing, unforgettable experiences, with memories to last a lifetime!
