Your private driver will greet you at your Hotel / accommodation (or Naples train station), after a brief presentation you will be accompanied to the luxurious vehicle where our staff will offer you every comfort you need. After that they will give you important information about the tour and the places that you are going to visit. Finally, let's get started your dream Private Tour !

Your driver will take you on a coastal drive to the famous Amalfi Coast. He will stop few times along the way to take fantastic panoramic photos of you with the famous Sorrento peninsula with the Gulf of Napoli scenary in the background. During the tour,  some cultural and gastronomic general information about the area will be provided along the way (inside the vehicle) by your private driver. Then, you will find yourselves driving to Positano for an incredible free time to spend. See the houses clung to the mountainside like white sugar lumps coated in brightly coloured bougainvillea tumbling down to a small, beach and warm blue Mediterranean sea. According to an old Italian proverb “In Positano you don’t walk along the streets, you climb them”.This amazing village offers you a lot of things for sightseeing and purchasing: the famous Positano-styled fashion, shoes, dresses, hats, Positano styled ceramics, food and architecture. You will have one hour to visit this amazing place and its shops.

At this point it’s time for a nice lunch, trust our staff and you will enjoy a incredible meal made by local ingredients, such as seafood and handmade fresh pasta. Alternatively you can have a pizza or a panino, something quicker but equally delicious. Stopping for lunch will be according to your needs and your time.

On the way to Pompeii, we will drive by Mt. Vesuvius, the volcano responsible for one of the most famous historical events in Italy. The old city of Pompeii is located at the base of the Vesuvius and was flourish during the Period of the Roman Empire. After the eruptions of the Volcano in 79 B.C the city has been destroyed and covered by ashes and lapillus. The Archeological dig started in 1748 and in three centuries only 3/5 part of the city has been discovered. Now the city has been declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO and 3.750.000 tourists each year come to visit it.

Before leaving your private driver please agree upon the time to leave. Then the driver will recommend a suitable time to get back to your Hotel / accommodation (or Naples train station) after this lovely day!

  • We recommend to add the extra service of the private guide for the ruins, in this way we can provide you “Skip the line” entrance tickets. Tickets will be paid (in cash) to your guide at the entrance and it is 18 Euro for Adults. It is Free of Charge up to 18 yrs old (they need to show their passaport or ID).
  • Gratuity can be paid to the driver at your discretion (it is not mandatory in italy)

General Informations

All our drivers have been trained to give a tour along the route as you are driven to your destinations, however due to strict Italian laws regulating and protecting licensed tour guides our drivers cannot do this outside of the vehicle, in the towns, sites and museums.

In the very rare event that there is an internal assembly or strike in Pompeii, unfortunately they usually do not advise of this in advance.

Kid Friendly: YES (This tour is suitable for children as long as they are supervised by a parent).

Please , comunicate the age of kids up to 6 years old in order to provide a baby car seat.

We reserve the right to change the order in which we visit the sites.

Passengers with a Reduced Mobility (PRM) Friendly : YES (you must enjoy walking short distances and be able to get in and out of minivan and minibus).

Passaport Holders under 18 years are entitled to free admission to State owned archaeological sites (Pompeii, Herculaneum, Etc.) and museums, upon production of a valid photo identity document.

The client must know that we will provide this tour despite bad weather.

Please be advised that some shops or sites may be closed during the off-season (mid-November through mid-March)

According to our driver on the day , we can also arrange a different tour. This is something possible caused by the traffic , strikes, extreme weather, landslide / mudslide, closed road, etc.

Simple Amazing...Bellissimo We just returned from our incredible trip in Italy and France. There were so many highlights to talk about but I wanted to say how incredibly pleased we were with Lovely Amalfi Coast Tours and most importantly with Giovanni, our driver. He has the most incredibly warm personality, speaks wonderful english (although I spoke italian with him) and has such in depth knowledge of the places we visited. He drove us to Pompeii first where we spent three hours, then off to Positano where he booked us in at a restaurant at the top of the cliff that had the most incredible view!! Our group spent a little too much time at the restaurant drinking wonderful wines and eating a most delicious meal, my favorite of the whole trip...once we were done we went to Beautiful Sorrento where we had a 90 minute opportunity to shop and eat gelato and simple do what we wanted. He was articulate and funny the entire time. His driving skills were amazing albeit we had a few moments going up the mountains where I didnt think we were going to make it (narrow winding roads) but he handeled them so well. We hope that if you use this company you may have the pleasure of having Giovanni as your driver/guide. It will be an incredible experience. I was on a shared tour by the way and met my fellow cruisers on Cruise Critic.com I recommend this site to get info on cruising and more importanly to meet others and share tours such as this one. We booked a private tour of the Amalfi Coast from our cruise ship - Naples Port. Our driver, Giovanni, was great -- informative, great personality, and experienced driver, punctual, and spoke English very well. He was very knowledgeable and provided recommedations when asked. We arrived at the port of Salerno on Serenade of the Seas and was picked up by Giovanni. What an amazing tour guide! Very knowledgeable, friendly and polite throughout the entire tour. He stopped for photos and gave us enough time to spent in Positano and Sorrento and even recommended a good restaurant in Sorrento. This was the best tour of our 12 day mediterranean cruise. Our driver was soooo knowledgable and got us to both Herculeum (better than Pompei) and Pompei before the crowds did. He then took us to this AMAZING lunch on Mt. Vesuvius (cantina) and we had the best authentic meal of the trip. We got to get a private winery tour and taste amazing wine. Next we hiked up Mt. Vesuvius... it was so much fun! I would recommend this to anyone my husband and I had a blast!
