Vesuvius

The Vesuvius is a very important and interesting Volcano for the history of Italy and for the branch of Volcanology. It is part of the mountain chain “Vesuvio – Somma” and its highness is 1281 meters. The Mt. Vesuvius hits the tourist with its extraordinary beauty, moreover it contributes to the magnificence of the extraordinary Neapolitan landscape. Is famous a postcard on which is pictured the entire Gulf of Naples with this wonderful volcano on the background.

From 1944 there has not been eruptions.
